My latest sourdough loaf is a triumph!
To score it, I put it in the freezer while the oven was preheating for 45 minutes, making it easier to cut. Worked great!

After accidentally leaving my starter in the oven as I was preheating it for dinner (oops!) I was afraid I’d killed it.
Homemade burgers on homemade buns
We made homemade burger buns last night and cooked the meat with fresh basil, bread crumbs, and apple cider vinegar mixed in. Yum!

Used scissors to score 3 diagonal slashes, but it split down the middle the long way as well…

Sourdough starter is probably not the problem

Tough and chewy but it tastes great! Also (not pictured) made waffles this morning with some starter, which was yummy.
Fresh oatmeal raisin cookies make shelter in place a little easier…
But it turns out that you have to set a timer for ALL the batches not just the first two!

It’s holiday baking season! Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it’s always a fun time to make cookies. Here’s my childhood favorite recipe, called “party cookies” but you might just call them “M&M Cookies” if you aren’t bothered about trademarks. I recently came across a cookbook produced by my 3rd grade class, and a copy of this recipe was my contribution. Whenever my mom or I were called upon to submit a recipe to a cookbook, this was our go-to. I don’t know where the recipe came from originally though. Party Cookies
