The old San Jose Earthquakes moved to Houston after the 2005 season and became the Dynamo. The new expansion team hosted the first two league games between the two teams in 2008 at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The Quakes won the first game, on May 22, by a score of 2-1. The second game ended in a 1-1 draw.

I had a few hours to kill in San Francisco so I headed to the Bay and ended up at Fort Point, where I couldn’t resist taking a few snaps with my camera phone. Wish I had had a real camera, but it’s hard to ruin a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset 🙂
MLS Cup Trophy Viewing Party
At the new San Jose Earthquakes / Oakland A’s office in the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose, the 2001 and 2003 MLS cups were put on view for the season ticket holders. We also got a chance to watch David Beckham’s team, the Los Angeles "Scum" Galaxy, lose a soccer game on TV, and pick up free T-shirts. All in all, an evening well spent.
