Poem: I Don’t Like

“I Don’t Like”
by Bill Ward
1998

I don’t like a porch swing
Or a park bench
With a beautiful view
Of a majestic orange and red sunset.

I don’t like a waterfall
Or a tropical beach
With palm trees
Reaching up to the sky.

I don’t like a scenic mountain range
Or evergreen forests
Stretching as far
As the eye can see.

I only like your face
And I don’t want to be
any of those places
As long as you are here
With me.
