Poem: Falling

“Falling”
by Bill Ward
1997

Falling looks like fun.
Flying through the air,
Feeling the wind rush by,
but then it ends with a crash
and that part doesn’t look fun.

Astronauts on TV
are falling through the sky.
Spinning around in space,
dancing around the lab.
They don’t have to crash;
they fall around the earth.

Maybe if we could fall
without hitting the earth,
it’d really be flying, soaring,
right around the world.
