Celebrated my 48th birthday in San Francisco with Rosa – brunch, cable cars, sightseeing, and concert
We started my birthday off yesterday with a lovely brunch at Red Hill Station in San Francisco.
After brunch Saturday, we visited the San Francisco Cable Car Museum. You can see the cables running that pull the famous cable cars up and down the hills of the City. They have a few old cars on display as well as plenty of models and information about the history of this unique mode of transportation. A must-see for any transit history nerd like me!
Then after the Museum, what better thing to do than to ride the cable car? We took the car from the museum to Fisherman’s wharf
From Fisherman’s Wharf we took a restored vintage PCC streetcar #1053 (painted to honor Brooklyn’s trolleys) down the Embarcadero to the Ferry Building and had delicious birthday burgers at Gott’s Roadside.
We ended the birthday with a great concert – James McMurtry with Bonnie Whitmore from Austin Texas at The Chapel in the Mission.
