How to Freeze Rice
Sometimes you want to put together a quick meal and you want to eat rice with it, but you just don’t have the time for the rice cooker to do its job…. it can take the better part of an hour to cook brown rice, which as we all know is much better for you. So what do you do?
Rice Cooker Oatmeal
Just about every morning, I start my day with a bowl of hot oatmeal. Cooking oatmeal can be a hassle, especially when you’re half asleep, so I’ve come up with a system that makes it as easy as opening a box of dry cereal – cook it in a rice cooker.
Easy Infused Water
If you find plain water to be kind of boring and dull, but want to avoid sweeteners or chemicals, try making some infused water. I recently bought a Mason jar beverage dispenser that I’ve used a couple times successfully to make cucumber and basil infused water.
Home Brewed Iced Tea
Every morning I drink iced tea to help me get going. I’ve never been a coffee drinker, and I don’t enjoy hot tea as much. I used to drink a lot of carbonated soft drinks, but this way I get to still have the caffeine without the sugar or artificial sweetener and all the other chemicals. If you’ve been buying bottled iced tea you will be amazed at how much money you save! Here’s how you can make and enjoy this healthy and tasty beverage at home and save money.
Oven Baked Chicken and Potatoes
This is one of my favorite easy meals. Just throw the raw chicken meat and some potatoes in the oven and bake!
